Contact Sheet Generator
Turn up to 40 images into a labelled visual index with filenames, dimensions, file sizes and PNG, JPG or WebP export.
Up to 40 images. Reorder before export.
Contact sheets use centred thumbnail crops for consistent rows; they are review indexes, not archival replacements for the original files.
About the Contact Sheet Generator
Contact Sheet Generator creates a visual review index from up to 40 local images. It is useful for photography selections, product catalogs, asset reviews and sharing a compact overview without opening every source file.
Control columns, thumbnail width, spacing and background, then optionally label every thumbnail with its filename, original pixel dimensions and file size. Reorder or remove entries before generating the final sheet.
PNG, JPG and WebP exports are created locally with explicit 8192px-side and 64-megapixel safeguards. Thumbnails use centred crops for consistent rows, so the sheet complements rather than replaces original files.

Frequently asked questions
- Are thumbnails cropped?
- Yes. A centred cover crop creates consistent thumbnail rows. The source images themselves are never modified.
- Why can a very large sheet be rejected?
- The 8192px-side and 64-megapixel safeguards prevent excessive Canvas memory. Reduce columns or thumbnail width.
- Which output format should I choose?
- PNG preserves sharp labels without lossy compression, JPG is broadly compatible for photo-heavy sheets, and WebP often provides a smaller web-ready file.
- Can I use it as an archive?
- No. A contact sheet is a visual index of cropped thumbnails, not a replacement for original full-resolution assets.
- Are images uploaded?
- No. Loading, layout and export happen locally in your browser.
