Frequently asked questions

Should I set a passphrase?
Yes, for real use. The passphrase encrypts your private key so it is useless to anyone who copies it without the passphrase.
ECC or RSA?
ECC (Curve25519) is modern, fast and has small keys. RSA 4096 is widely compatible but slower. Choose ECC unless a system requires RSA.
Are the keys uploaded?
No. They are generated locally with OpenPGP.js. You can verify this by disconnecting your internet after the page loads.
