About the English to Hindi Typing

English to Hindi Typing lets you write Hindi without a Devanagari keyboard. Type the sounds of the words in ordinary English letters and the tool converts them to Hindi (हिन्दी) script as you type. For example, namaste becomes नमस्ते.

It uses a simple phonetic scheme: double a vowel for its long form (aa, ii, uu) and use capital letters for the retroflex sounds (T, D, N). A built-in guide shows the common letter mappings.

Everything runs in your browser, so your text stays private. Copy the Hindi output and paste it into WhatsApp, documents, social media or search.

Frequently asked questions

How do I type long vowels in Hindi?
Double the vowel letter. For example aa gives आ, ii gives ई and uu gives ऊ. A single a gives the short अ or the inherent vowel after a consonant.
How do I get the hard T and D sounds?
Use capital letters for the retroflex consonants: T is ट, Th is ठ, D is ड and N is ण. Lowercase t, d and n give the softer dental sounds.
Is this real Hindi typing or a translator?
It is transliteration, not translation. It converts the sounds you type into Devanagari script; it does not translate the meaning of English words into Hindi.
