About the English to Marathi Typing

Marathi uses the Devanagari script, so the phonetic scheme is the same as Hindi: double a vowel for its long form and use capital letters for the retroflex sounds. Marathi also uses the letter L for ळ.

- How do I type the Marathi L sound?
- Use a capital L to get ळ, the retroflex la used in Marathi. Lowercase l gives the regular ल.
- How do I type long vowels?
- Double the vowel letter, so aa gives आ, ii gives ई and uu gives ऊ.
- Is this translation or transliteration?
- It is transliteration: it converts the sounds you type into Devanagari script and does not translate the meaning of the words.
