Speed is measured directly from your browser against Cloudflare's global edge network. Results depend on your network, device and current traffic, so run it a few times for a fair picture.

About the Internet Speed Test

This internet speed test measures how fast your connection really is: your download speed, upload speed, ping (latency) and jitter. Press GO and watch the live gauge fill as each stage runs.

Unlike many speed tests, it runs entirely in your browser and measures directly against Cloudflare's global edge network, which has data centres close to almost everyone. That makes the result a realistic view of the speed you get to fast, well-connected servers.

Download and upload are tested with several parallel connections for a few seconds each so your line is properly saturated, exactly how a good speed test should work. Ping and jitter come from many quick round-trips, so you can see how stable your connection is for calls and gaming.

Key features

  • Download and upload speed in Mbps
  • Ping (latency) and jitter in milliseconds
  • Live animated gauge with auto-scaling range
  • Runs in your browser, no app or sign-up
  • Measured against Cloudflare's global edge network

How to use

  1. 1Press the GO button to start the test.
  2. 2Wait while ping, download and upload are measured in turn.
  3. 3Read your download, upload, ping and jitter in the result cards.
  4. 4Run it a few times, on Wi-Fi and wired if you can, for a fair average.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my speed lower than what my plan promises?
Your ISP plan is a maximum. Real speed depends on Wi-Fi signal, distance from the router, other devices using the network, your device's hardware and current network congestion. Testing over a wired connection usually gives the highest, most stable result.
What is a good ping and jitter?
For general browsing, ping under about 50 ms feels instant. For gaming and video calls, lower is better, and low jitter (a small, steady ping) matters just as much as the average, because big swings cause lag and dropouts.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
The test sends and receives throwaway data to and from Cloudflare's speed endpoints to measure your connection. It does not read your files or personal data, and nothing about your browsing is stored by this tool.
Why do I get a different result each time?
Network speed naturally varies second to second with congestion and Wi-Fi conditions. Run the test a few times and look at the range rather than a single number.
